The Beverley Station Singers was formed following the 2nd Country Choir Bash at the Platform Theatre in September 2013. Led by renowned singer/guitarist Kelly Newton Wordsworth from Williams, this diverse group of singers ranging in ages through to eighties meets every 3 -4 weeks at the Station in the Green Room.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the annual Country Choir Bash was cancelled for 2020. however, once restrictions were lifted, VoiceMoves presented a Choir Muster in Beverley at the end of October which attracted choirs from Perth to come together for a big sing. Because of the inclement weather, it was held in the Beverley Town Hall. The next Country Choir Bash to be hosted by Beverley Station Arts will be 11 September 2021, as per custom the second Saturday in September.
BAD - Beverley Amateur Dramatics
The BAD performance of the Australian comedy musical “Cocky’s Crossing” which was to be in March 2020 had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But oncethe restrictions eased rehearsals for the production recommenced and it was performed over two weekends in October to a total audience of almost 500 and fantastic reviews.
BAD is planning its next show in April - not a musical. We think it's important to keep the momentum up, but Quairading will be doing a musical in October, so we don't want to take away from them. Mark Kont and Britt Hadlow are currently looking at some scripts of Australian themed plays. Rehearsals to start in January.
