21 Hearts
Theatre 180 returns to the Beverley stage with a compelling true story of the celebration of women's strength, love and hope in the face of adversity.
Written by Jenny Davis. Directed by Stuart Halusz. Featuring Caitlin Beresford-Ord, Rebecca Davis, Michelle Fornasier, Alex Jones, Helen Searle and Alison van Reeken.Vivian Bullwinkel was one of 65 Australian nurses who boarded the Vyner Brooke in an attempt to flee the Japanese invasion of Singapore in February, 1942. Bombed by Japanese fighter planes and after spending days at sea, she and some other survivors found their way to Radji Beach on Banka Island where they surrendered. In one of the most atrocious acts of war crimes in our history, 22 nurses were forced to march into the sea where they were callously machine gunned. The only survivor and witness, Vivian spent the rest of the war in a prison camp before liberation, and her remaining years fighting for recognition of the bravery of her friends and colleagues.

THIRST
Starring our very own local legend, Bruce Denny, 'Thirst' is a funny, tender romantic comedy, full of song and heart "will she stay, or will she go now? "
The Glass Slipper Tavern is the only pub for miles in Yellow Springs, a district of canola fields and cattle farms. Lola and her entrepreneurial long-term partner and band member, Chico, never thought they’d settle down in the country, let alone inherit a pub from Lola’s estranged, white fella uncle! Lola and Chico become the first and only blackfullas to run a pub in the district.
Among other things the tavern needs new solar panels and Chico is hoping the CWA’s annual fundraiser, a karaoke night will cover it as it’s not easy operating on a shoestring budget. With the help of Roxy, a savvy local barmaid with secret talents they are just hanging on.
Thirst is written by Barbara Hostalek and it’s her third mainstage production for Yirra Yaakin.
